Have you heard of Pharmacy First ?

Pharmacists can provide support for those people that are suffering from a minor ailment, such as a cold or a cough, through the Pharmacy First scheme. If you do not normally pay a prescription charge, the minor ailment remedies will be provided to you free of charge.

Please ensure you allow the surgery at least 48-72 hours to issue your medication.

It is Flu Season - find out if you are in an at risk category

You are entitled to have a flu vaccination IF YOU ARE 65 or OVER.  For the at risk group a pneumoccocal vaccination is also recommended.

You may also get a Flu vaccination if you have a long-term health condition, including:

  • Chronic lung disease                          blood_pressure1

  • Chronic heart disease

  • Chronic kidney disease

  • Chronic liver disease

  • Chronic neurological diseases

  • Asthma

  • Epilepsy

  • Diabetes mellitus

  • Immunosuppression caused by a disease or treatment for a disease.  For example, this may include people who do not have a spleen, and people who are on immuno­suppressant treatment or are taking high doses of systemic steroids

  • Patients with weak immune system
